There are journeys that mark… and there are encounters that remain in the heart. This stay with Cécile and Jérôme will remain a special moment for us. As soon as we arrived at their chalet, surrounded by snow and silence, we immediately feel the warmth of their welcome and the authenticity of Swedish life. Cécile and Jérôme are people with big hearts. They take the time to share, to explain, to accompany… always with kindness and generosity. We don't feel like customers, but like guests. The activities are incredible and experienced to the fullest : drive your dog sled and become a musher for a trip, share a friendly moment with the dogs on a cani-hike, discover a reindeer farm, explore the nature reserve and be amazed… Without forgetting the snowmobile, a real safari in these magnificent landscapes. and many other things… Meals are also part of these precious moments : in the evening around Cécile's delicious homemade dishes, and lunch in a kota or around a fire in the countryside. To be, we really understand what real Sami life is. And everything is designed for children : they experience the activities fully, can drive their own sleigh, listening to stories… they leave with a head full of memories. Beyond landscapes and activities, above all, it is an incredible human encounter that we will remember. Thank you Cécile and Jérôme for your generosity, your simplicity and everything you made us experience. One thing is sure : this stay will remain engraved in our hearts. Amazing stay. Cécile and Jérôme introduced us to Lapland by taking the time and through typical and intense activities (Nordic bath😉). The accommodation was really good, own, comfortable and Cécile's typical and excellent cuisine. Recommended for all those who want to discover the calm and beauty of Lapland from the inside with warm hosts who share their love of this region and their magnificent sled dogs.. Incredible stay in Lapland with Cécile and Jérôme ! We were staying "Freedom" half board, the perfect balance between autonomy and secure environment. We had good, typical, home-cooked meals every evening. ! The setting is incredible, cut off from everything. The activities are great : sled, Dog-rando, ice fishing, walk in the forest and on frozen lakes... With the added bonus of magnificent Northern Lights in the evening. The sauna available is also very appreciated., we took advantage of it every evening. We have just returned from a one-week multi-activity family stay with OpenLappland. Everything was PERFECT ! - The cottage was very well equipped : the beautifully decorated White House, where we felt at home. - The delicious meals prepared by Cécile who introduced us to Swedish culinary specialties. - All activities offered, the landscapes.... -  The photos / videos to immortalize these experiences... And what made this stay so exceptional for me, they are our hosts, Jérôme and Cécile... and their dogs of course 😅. I enjoyed the moments spent together, the discussions, their explanations about the kennel, Swedish life; of children's education, to politics. I also liked their accessibility and the caring atmosphere which allowed our children to also ask their questions.. To summarize : it was a stay rich in discovery, with top guides. What an unforgettable experience ! Cécile and Jérôme share with us their passion for sled dogs and all the activities of Lapland, in kindness and good humor (warm welcome guaranteed). Everything was perfect : long dog sled or snowmobile rides, the ice bath and the meeting with a Sami and his reindeer, cani-hiking...and all this in a magical setting ! This trip, I dreamed about it for over 15 years. Not a simple trip. A need. A deep desire for truth, of nature, of silence. I wanted an authentic elsewhere, a journey that touches the heart, ❤️ almost like a meeting in an unknown land. Suffice to say that my level of requirements was very high And in Swedish Lapland, I found much more than I imagined. A waking dream, made possible above all thanks to Cécile and Jérôme from @openlappland Their welcome, their kindness, their professionalism,their passion… Here, everything is designed so that we let go. From arrival to departure, we let ourselves be carried. Sled dogs, hiking in a UNESCO-listed park, fishing on a frozen lake, meeting a Sami, swimming in the frozen lake, the quest for the Northern Lights everything is wonderful... And then these simple moments, out of time: meals at kota, by the river, the crackling fire, the cold outside, the heat inside. The only downside, it is that now, my daughters compare all my meals to Cécile’s… and I’m clearly no longer unanimous 😅 They even ask me for her recipes.
